This is a job we did in Bowie Maryland. We installed two 28” x 52” WITAL European Tilt and turn windows. The project included Boman and Kemp stack stone corrugated steel window wells, white ladders, window well grates, and plastic covers. One of the windows was in a very tight spot up against the chimney bump out and the outside corner of the foundation where we just had enough room to squeeze in a 52 inch window well. Both of the window wells were installed to make legal bedrooms in the basement. We dug down to the footing and did find a functioning drain tile that we were able to tap into as a primary drain system. We then back-filled each window well, all with three-quarter inch blue stone, to create a large dry well in the bottom of each excavation. We installed interior and exterior trim, graded outside to create a berm for water to go around, and laid seed and straw to finish it off. The client was very happy with the outcome, and now can sell his house with two more legal and safe bedrooms.
