This job for was for a couple that was moving their elderly father into their basement. They where completely renovating and finishing their basement and wanted a homey and inviting space for their father to age. The homeowner went back and forth about how many windows and how big he wanted them but ended up deciding to do three windows. 1 in each main area. So we put 2 48x48 twin Wital European tilt and turn windows in, 1 in the bedroom and 1 in the living room. Then 1 put a 31x41 Wital European tilt and turn window in the kitchen. The window in the kitchen needed to be shorter so that it could be higher than the counter top being put in with a sink.

The Client decided to use tan Rockwell Elite window wells and polycarbonate covers which look like a natural stone and add a lot aesthetically. The home was made of brick and block so we had to install new steel lentils to support the home above the windows. We also added roll up screens to every window so that they can take off the screens with ease if they want to get out. Overall the client was very satisfied with how much light and ventilation the windows added to the space and how homey it has made his once very dark and musty basement. We love these types of jobs because the transformation of the space is so drastic. Egress windows are usually added for safety but when you add them to every room in your basement the space becomes so much more like the main level of the home and the space is so much more inviting with all the natural light and air they bring in to the rooms.
